There unique design allows you to fish a flowing trace of any length, presenting your bait or Lure in a way never before thought possible, allowing it to move freely and naturally with the tide and current - irresistible to all predatory fish. Automatically collapsing down when the fish is hooked, the boom reduces the trace length and allows easy landing of your catch. Ziplock Boom's also allow you to adjust your trace length in seconds to suit ever changing tides and conditions - keeping you one step ahead of the fish, and making cutting and re-tieing hook lengths a thing of the past! How To Use Your Ziplock Whisker Boom The 230mm ZipLock Whisker Boom is ideal for medium depth wreck and reef fishing using long flowing traces with natural or artificial baits. The boom is designed to pull apart, to allow easy rigging up. Always ensure the Boom is pushed back together securely before commencing fishing. Thread the boom onto your line slide on the buffer bead and tie on a swivel. Attach a 1-1.5mtrs length of mono then attach the hook. The boom can now be slid along the main line to give you the required trace length. Lock the boom into position by winding your line tightly around the undulated body and fix into the soft rubber cleat in the nose of the boom. The amount of pull required to release the line from the boom can be varied by adjusting the depth of line engagement in the cleat. Note: This will not damage or kink your line, (see diagram below). When a fish is hooked the boom should automatically disengage and slide down to the swivel. If you need to disengage by hand, simply pull the line in front of the cleat and allow the boom to slide down. Alternatively disengage your reel and apply the ratchet. Hold the boom in one hand, drop your baited hook or lure from the side of the boat with the other, and pay out the desired length of trace line. Lock the boom into position as explained above. Always lower slowly to the sea bed for perfect presentation. Top Tip: To stop damage to the expensive braided lines when wreck fishing, always use a mono leader. This is usually 10mtrs of clear 18kgs nylon to absorb the chafing against the sharp metal. When using your ZipLock Whisker Boom double this length. This now gives you 10mtrs of mono leader and 10mtrs of trace line in one. Use a lighter breaking strain of nylon mono from your main line. The main line goes through the middle of the boom, therefore allowing the leader to be made any length required instantaneously, it is then simply locked into the rubber cleat at the end of the boom. This is how the main line is attatched to the end of the Boom After twisting the main line around the end of the Boom it is then locked into the rubber cleat. Pass the main line through the Boom and attach a swivel, leader and hook. Feed out the desired length of line and lock this into the end of the Boom. Lower the Boom to the required depth.Once the fish is hooked the line will unclip from the end of the Boom allowing it to slide down to the swivel or stopper knot. When fishing mid water , the booms can be used to position the bait any distance from the boom and sinker 10,20,30 metres, especially if the fish are timid. How To Use Your Ziplock Running Boom With the running boom the arm comes away freely from the sinker housing. This is so that when a fish grabs the bait and runs with it, particularly when using a bait runner reel or an overhead reel in virtual free spool the fish doesn’t feel the weight of the sinker when it runs with the bait due to the arm pulling free of the sinker housing. The Running Booms come in 2 sizes (but the same length) being light to medium for up to 20lb line and medium to heavy for up to 40lb line. There are 2 booms per pack. When the fish grabs the bait and runs the main line slides through ths sinker housing , so the fish doesn`t pull the sinker along the bottom therefore it doesn` t feel the weight of the sinker Last Updated ( Tuesday, 25 September 2007 ) < Prev Next > [ Back ] #josOverlay{ color:#FFFFFF; display:none; position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; z-index: 90; width: 1px; height: 1px; filter:alpha(opacity=50); font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; -moz-opacity: 0.5; opacity: 0.5; } #ss{ position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; z-index: 91; visibility:hidden; } Brisbane Fishing Online Latest Forum Posts Re:40mil lined up tonite">Re:40mil lined up tonite by obone Re:Marry River Cod and Bassin">Re:Marry River Cod and Bassin by TerryH Re:See you later Queensland!">Re:See you later Queensland! by ellicat Re:Were did your big bass come from ?">Re:Were did your big bass come from ? by pinkey Re:Fillet knives">Re:Fillet knives by ellicat Re:Clarrie Hall ABA Fishing comp">Re:Clarrie Hall ABA Fishing comp by ellicat Re:My Big Trip, THE REPORT!">Re:My Big Trip, THE REPORT! by Jeryl Re:.22">Re:.22 by mangler Re:Theft.">Re:Theft. by Nastymind Re:Squire 29.04.08">Re:Squire 29.04.08 by codboy Re:Carping the Albert">Re:Carping the Albert by Mack_attack Re:Boat Project - Custom ice box">Re:Boat Project - Custom ice box by Shrimpo More Latest Posts...
